Intelligent beardie

I told my bearded dragon that i'd move him to his bigger cage once he was over 100 he grams. In a matter of few weeks, gained weight more quickly then ever before. A few weeks ago, my friend gave me a beardie to take care of. I told my beardie he was a skinny beardie as the other was heavier then him, but around the same length. Once again he picked up weight quicker then ever before and is now bigger then the other beardie.
