I would first like to say that if it weren't for people like that there would be no wars. Sorry if I'm not being patriotic but what our country is doing right now under the Bush administration disgusts me.
Last week there was an article in the local newspaper that called all those who oppose the war anti-American radicals no better than the terrorists. I wrote a letter to the editor explaining how and why protesters are not anti-American and that they are just as American as anybody else. I got into some very strong arguments also talking about how protesting is not what you do if you are anti-American, it is what you are forced to do when the government that speaks for you does not represent you. Sure, they printed my article, but then made a point to print the fact that they think I am an immoral pro-terrorist lefty extremist and that I should support my country no matter how wrong it is.
