So I'm sitting around work, kinda bored, when I get a phone call from my wife. Turns out the crickets I ordered from LLL Reptile got there Today. I wasn't expecting them until tomorrow. How nice! Yep, the UPS guy made the delivery today while my wife was on the phone. She didn't even know he was there. He left the two packages (2000 crickets altogether) inside my gate and left without some much as a holler or anything. My wife was totally unaware of the waiting packages until she heard our brave watchdog (a 2 pound min-pin) mauling something. So she stepped out to see our little 'punt' of a dog (that's what you do when you tire of him) chewing up a couple of boxes. Realizing right away what they were, she ran back inside to get a trash bag and came out to coral the escapee crickets. I had this mental image of my wife coralling thousands of crickets and fending off our little ankle nipper, the whole time having this look of disgust (>_<) on her face.
Fortunately, 'bear killer' (not his real name) is not much more than an ankle nipper, and the damage to the box was minimal, with little if any escapees.
However, I am mad as hell at the UPS jerk that left the box in our gate like that. I often buy herps via mail. This could easily have been a box containing live herps!

(Ed note: No offense meant to the fine people at UPS, except for the jerks that leave boxes in gates with dogs!)
