Happened today-sort of funny

Was out with a friend today, and hadn't planned on looking for snakes, but I caught(and released) a baby red sided garter snake about 8 inches long. The funny part was he seemed to think he was a black mamba-had his mouth open whenever he looked at us and even hissed once-although we barely heard it. Struck a couple times, but no bites(Too small). Maybe he actually knew he wasn't a mamba but was practicing because he wants to be one when he grows up.
