How many of you out there are thinking of your iguanas when your salad is delivered to your table at a restaurant? My wife and I have developed the habit of bringing home the unwanted vegetables for our "kids". My iguana is a bit strange in that while he likes the usual green stuff, his favorites include very hot veggies (only as an occasional snack, of course) and the stem, stalk, or rind from anything. We have now gotten so used to this that it's second nature, but... My wife got us started on calling our reptiles "the babies". So, imagine what some other folks in the restaurant as well as the server must be thinking when they hear us say "let's bring this home for the babies" and we box up a jalapeno pepper, a bunch of strawberry stems, and two pieces of watermelon rind with no watermelon left. I guess one day when the child protection services come knocking at our door to ask what we're feeding our kids, we'll know we spoke too loud!
