I have a Flat Tailed Horned Lizard. I've had him for about a year. He is very healthy and active. I feed him 100% Harvester Ants. I put him into hibernation within the last 2 months. I am timing his hibernation with the So. Cal. deserts.
This is my first time hibernating him. He seems to be sleeping well. Every once in a while when it gets a little warm he will stick his head out of the sand to look around. Other than that he seems just fine. I offer him some ants when he is up, But does not eat. That worries me a little. I'm afraid he will starve by April when I bring him out of hibernation.
Being a nervuous "Dad". Is there anything else I need to do to make him comfortable with his hibernation?
I dont want anything to happen to him.
Thanks for any help!
