Picture #8 is EXACTLY what mine look like!

::Another key to identifing fire ants is that the wrokers come in different sizes. But you right in the fact they are reddish with black abdomens. I foud a few sites the might help you figure out if they are fire ants.

:Thanks. I couldn't get the first site to come up, but the others were helpful. These are solid red with solid black abdomens. As long as he wants them, I'll keep giving them to him. I'm often near the Fort Worth zoo, I think I'll drop in and check out their hornytoads. Lisa
