: : OK i know i may be beating a dead horse here, but let me try one more time. I have a rather large colony of red harvester ants coming out of the ground on my home site. there is a small area of dirt in the back of the concrete slab. if i dont find some natural way to control them then it will be the exterminator who will do it. i geuss there are no other lizards that will eat them other texas horned lizards and if no one can make a sugestion on how to move them they are going to be exterminated, so come people give me some ideas please!

: :Mike, you just have to check about permits for HLs. I doubt that this is sufficient reason to get permits though. You could purchase, I hate this idea, Desert HLs for the "job" but then you have to have a large enclosure to contain and maintain the HLs you purchase. You might consider catching the ants and making them available to folks with HLs, for a small cost. Just be careful with the ant "round-up" if you do. If that is not an option, then your options are narrowed. Lester G. Milroy III

thank you lester, just exactly what due people pay for harvester ants? just curious.
