: The other day my horned lizard got stung by his lunch(harvester ants)and then a few days later it happened again. Is he a bad hunter??Will he eat them if I freeze them to death??I already put them in the fridge to slow them down considerably and that doesn't seem to be working. It looks like it hurts and he rubs his nose on everything after. There is no stinger there.I know that I'm giving him the right ants so whats up with him??His roomate doesn't have a problem with them.thanks, jenn

:Jenn, you might be putting too many in at a time. Try fewer ants at a time. It might take longer to "chow" the HLs but that is the adjustment you may need to do to prevent the "attacks." Lester G. Milroy III
