care info. wanted

We usually let our lizzards og at the end of summer, this year we want to keep them. Can anyone give info on basic care to keep them happy? How do we set them up for winter? We set them out in their cage for most of the day to get sun and feed moths,crickets,ants,ect. what else do we need to do? Thanks Lisa
