Which species are you talking about.
Armadillo is a cordylus species but the different kind of cordilids also need different requirements.
Some species are from rocky areas (C. cataphractus) others from dry woodlands (C. tropidosternum) and some species even live in semi deserts.

I europe the most readily available is cordyllus tropidosternum. As said this species if from the drier woodlands. They don't have a winter restperiod like some others do. Just put peat or bark in the cage. And make some nice hidingplaces out of wood (in nature they hide behind loose bark). The species lives in an area that has a very short rainperiod but water should always be available. The species gives birth to about 3 live young every year.

ps the are real sun lovers (sungazor is a good nice translation of there native name Sonnekyeker ) so give them much light.
If the species is C. warreni please be wise and don't buy them. They aren't the easiest species to deal with
