: : Friends,

: : Please take a few moments of your time to vote on the poll at the link below. Rattlesnakes are unique group of animals, and a vital part of the ecosystem in which they occur. These wonderful and unique animals are *often* kept in overcrowded conditions while being deprived of adequate food and water. Rattlesnakes are able to feel the sensations of pain, fear, thirst, and hunger. Whether or not you personally appreciate them, as fellow herpers, I ask you on behalf of myself, my peers, and the animals to please come forward and stand up for them. This has been an ongoing, and continuous battle for many of us, who would like to see these immoral festivals expelled permanently. This is just another attempt to take a step in the right direction.

: Sean-I have a different perspective regardless of someone with Dr. on his name is cited. The article is actually a half truth, most of the guys that handle these snakes are fellow herpers, these animal populations are not decimated as they are released back into the wilds after a few days, and frankly rattlesnake ends up on the barbecue from time to time throughout the south, not just at these fesivals. But then I suppose since this is a politically correct half truth article, your not going to accept from a fellow herper who's handled reps for 35 years or so as having any legitimate opinion, as your request outlines for me politically what you are, but there are many people that know the truth about these roundups, and the buggy man is not out to decimate the rattlesanke population of the south, I respect your right to your opinion..............
