What kind of toads are in your area? Here we have nm spadefoots, great plains toads, plains spadefoots, Texas toads, Green toads. Population seems only to be affected in dry years. In areas where we got 2-3 inches of rain I personally went out and counted toads after they metamorphisized. I counted well over 10,000 great plains and texas' about dime to quarter size. and well over 6,000 spadefoots. I counted toads for 4 hours that day. Note this is 1 pond in one area. And I could not have even counted all of the toads I saw that day- several hundred thousand in this one playa. Also saw hundreds of tiger salamander larvae and adults. Interesting.

:I have a nonreceptive to mice snake...and I have tried all the tricks. He has a couple of lizards in with him and he doesn't want them either. He wants toads. He ate a heavy meal...25 toads...his last meal but it has been awhile and he has used his fat store. I'm beginning to become concerned. And toads won't come out of a few more weeks.
