Just my little bit of experience, and what I've heard from others, but some hogs just don't want to eat what we might consider large enough for them. My big female could easily eat full grown mice, but she won't eat anything larger than what is pictured by the other posters. In fact, she really likes to eat 2 or 3 small things and will flat out go on a hunger strike if I try to give her larger mice.
They are really slow growing snakes as well, so I would just go with the flow and feed yours whatever he or she will take.
