Well, I have tried on a few occasions to put my male Plains in with my female in the hopes that there would be a romantic interlude! I have waited 3 years for this, having had all of my hogs since hatchlings - this female is 3 and hefty and the male is 2. Up till now, the female has been VERY amorous but the male just looks like he's scared to death! Trying like crazy to get away from that big fat female! Yesterday, after a week off, I put them together again and left the room. I went to check on them after a few hours and i could see the last 2 inches of the males tail sticking out from under the hide board. It was twitching in a funny way and I panicked and thought, Oh No! She's eating him! So I lifted the board, and there there were with guilty looks on their faces, very much entwined in the embrace of love!
Just thought I'd share. Huggy and Elmo hopefully will be parents! Hooray!
