:I've been experimenting with ways to scent a toad for an eastern hognose. Today I took the pinkies and rubbed them all over the toads and placed the pinkie head in a toad mouth to get all that saliva onto it. Then I put the toads in with the hognoses shortly to get them really exited. This worked well for both of my remaining Easterns swallowed 3 live pinkies. As I reached down to pull the hog out of his feeding container it latched onto my finger. I quickly took the snake of of my finger being careful not to harm it.
:Well I guess this feeding tactic works.
:I soon fell asleep and slept all day. I wonder if this was a side effect of the "venom" or maybe it was my hangover from the German wedding I went to last night. I do not see any local reactions in the bite area. Actually I can't really tell which finger was bit now. It appears I'll be allright.
No venom involved. Were you bit AFTER handling the toad? Has happened to me many times! Scented fingers.
