Agreed...I see the same patterns in the wild. Rarely if ever do you find a hognose under a board...if anything it will be in leaf litter or sand or something of the nature. About half the hogs I have found I have spooked from under heavy leaf litter. Others were just curled up in crevices at the base of trees. While in captivity they do stay buried often, but then again, they are many times out and about. Very personable guys...will watch you go around the room and such. Definitely great snakes. Andy
