I finally got one of my two remaining Eastern Hogs to take pinkies! I purchased a trio online and they never would take a scented pinkie. I tried everything and they would seem interested and then "turn up their nose." They finally got emaciated and I had to force feed them. As a result one died (he was going to be my breeder male).
Today I placed both of them is separate deli cups and put them over the warm spot of the tank. I placed two scented pinkies in with them. The pinkies were scented by rubbing them on my two toads all over. Then I placed the pinkies in the toads mouths to get all that yucky saliva. After that I brained all the pinkies before I put them in with the hogs. One seemed interested and the other did not. After an hour the hog that did not seem interested at first had a full belly! I've worked long and hard for this.
