:Being a chondro lover, its ironic that I purchased a hognose from West Texas at the Mars show. So little and so cute. He fed right away for me on a live pink. I found it odd how he would jerk and hiss though in the presence of the pink. I figured its food MAN go for it. Everytime since then (Sept 15) he has refused the live pink and seemed as if he thought the pink was going to kill him. Today, 2 months later, all I had was a f/t pink. He did his and jerk at me as I placed the pink but after that he went to town. Then I gave him another and he ate that one too. I think the problem arose in that he was scared of the pink and did not think about eating in his terror. Just thought I would add to your but kicking forum. I will post pics of him when his belly goes down. He is an amazing little snake!!!Thanks for the time.

Paul,
Many years ago I switched from live to frozen thawed as a first meal and a much higher percentage feed the first time they are offered frozen thawed. I too feel they are afraid of live and once they get all worked up they just won't eat. Take care. John Meltzer
