Interspecies enclosure ???

I have a western hognose and a little ringneck snake.....can they be kept in the same enclosure? I have a 40 gallon tank that pretty much mimics the natural environment of the hognose. I just figured I'd toss in the ringneck, and he'd stay burried. I rescued the ringneck, and now where I live, it's too cold to release him til spring!
