::My 9-year old Western Hognose female had surgery for abcessed anal glands on both sides of her tail. The vet said female hognoses are prone to this condition if they've been bred or laid eggs (which she has).Will this be a recurring thing? Are there preventative measures to be taken in the future? Thanks.

I've had it in western hogs, bullsnakes, and western foxsnakes. Usually in older females. Take care. John Meltzer
