You can get quail from rodentpro.com

::We feed our gilas dead prey; for convenience and to prevent accidental bites from prey. Our standard diet consist of fuzzies/hopper/sm adult mice, rat pups, and young quail (and the occasional quail egg). Vitamin supplementation is also included periodically. Gilas have SLOW metabolisms so owners need to resist the urge to overfeed....2-3 appropriately sized prey every 10-14 days is plenty (and if it appears that the lizard is getting fat, then you need to cut back a bit).

:So dead is used so the prey does not bite the Gila. I know my brother had a Python and he always watched to make sure it didn’t attack his snake. I wasn't sure if they used dead because if they used alive the Gila may get more aggressive or not.
:Also, where would you find young quail? Do they actually sell them as feeders/pets?

:Thanks for your follow up Rob!
