I believe he posted personally over in the venomous forum. Apparently he was trying to x-ray it and it jumped off a table and bit him. The hospital told him it would take about 6 weeks for him to regain use of his arm. It sounded incredibly painful, and even though they're not confirmed to be lethal I'd put Gilas right up there on the dangerous list with rattlesnakes. Nothing to take lightly.
Have you considered an Ackie monitor? They're pretty cool, and the bites only make you bleed ;).
