No, I don't know if it has been verified, but what I WILL say is that Gilas DO manage to survive in some areas where it appears very dry and rocky without the washes that contain a higher concentration of vegetation in the Mojave Desert. The key to their survival appears to be more centerd on larger rocks in rocky areas for shelter(elevation being a huge factor) than any other habitat component. As for Brad's question, it's better that some be answered by e-mail, and only then if you are known to be a responsible herper, such as your self. I'm sure you understand.
