I am a regular on the chuck forum but look in here often.I am near Houston Tx( humid and muggy),have a 30'/30' outdoor pen(with a clear roof to keep out the torrential rains)and have had super success with chucks and Desert Iguanas. The pen is 90% self sufficient with many underground tunnels and desert plants for food. The lizards brumate, eat , breed, lay and hatch without my help.I have always loved the "idea" of Gilas but considered them too expensive. I am thinking of building more pens -roughly 15 ft square- with plenty of tunnels and a "removable cap rock" in places. Would I be out of my mind to consider Gilas, outside year round ,and hope for the same success as with chucks?? In my mind, chucks, DI's and Gilas most likey have the same hatching(underground) requirements. This project would be a year or 2 in the future IF it ever happens.Plus the pay back has to be better than chucks!! Do you successful breeders have trouble selling your offspring??

Looking for advice and a direction
Thanks
David
