:while mowing the lawn i nearly ran over a baby box about the size of a quarter! i checked him out ...seemed fine, so i left him right where he was...only thing is he hasnt gone anywhere in 4 days.he is burrowed into the grass near an old board. is this normal. i'm not really looking for a new pet, but is he safe?should i move him or try to feed him? or should i leave mother nature alone. please advise...i'll be crushed if the little guy doesnt make it because of my ignorance.

I would suggest to move the turtle at least 50-100 ft. away from your lawn (or just be aware of the turtle-before you mow your lawn). You can move the turtle to a man/woman-made artificial burrow & bring the same board (for protection) to simulate its current environment.
Goodluck
