feeding problem

My Blood python has been eating consistently each week, but I have to leave a rat pup in there all night. The other night I happened to be awake when she fed, but it was about 3 a.m. Does anybody have any ways/techniques/anything that will make her feed quicker, so that I can move feeding f/t rats. Any help would be great. thanks.
