:What are the odds of a snake that was attacked by a rat surviving? I have a female hogg island boa that was attacked by a "dead" rat that apparently was just unconscious for a while. The bites are limited to the back half of the snakes body, with the worst one being on the tail, though several of them are pretty bad. I am treating the wounds with antibacterial cream, and the snake, in all actuality, doesn't seem any worse for wear after something so horrible happening to her. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
T.B. is right in saying that you should see a vet. antibiotics would help your snakes chances and they would not be very expensive. I have seen many snakes attacked by rats and all of them have healed just fine as long as there is no infection and the wounds are kept clean. good luck
