Swollen foot

My leo has a swollen heal. Also a small scab and sore on its sole. What should I do? Ill try some home remidies like soaking in saltwater and putting a pulstice of a antibacterial plant called plantain on it. Also some peroxide. If it dosnt go away I will resort to a vet but I hope it wont come to that.
