Jason, the main risk from the type of puncture wounds produced by rodents is systemic infection. The symptoms may not become apparent for several days and at that point it is a much more serious and difficult condition to treat. I would strongly urge you to see a vet for a course of systemic antibiotics. Your situation is straight forward so costs should be minimal.
