Leopard Gecko Death

My leaopard gecko seemed to be fine until this morning. She was very lethargic and seemed like she was having trouble keeping her eyes open. She typically hangs out under a plasic log in her tank. Today she was lying in the middle and would only move if I touched her back. Midday I had a friend check on her while I was at work and it seems she switched locations in the tank but was still lethargic. She has been eating normally (the same since I got her 2 months ago) and seemed ok before today. By the time I got home from work she had died. What could cause such early death in a leopard gecko? Is there a chance she was sick when I got her 2 months ago and it just took this long for her to die?
