I guess you still have a bit more reading to do. A good place to start is the home page of chondroweb.com there are some pretty substantial and excellent care sheets there. GTP is not all that hard if you can provide adequate temperature, humidity and ventilation. These are the main factors that make their husbandry more difficult than a ball...
As far as temperament, they are quite variable, many are quiet and docile others will bite you at any chance they get. Even is some are more laid back than others they all can have their moments, it is not a snake that should be handled too much (or at all), they are easily stressed. Also a bite from a GTP is something that you will remember...
