I would definately use a proportional thermostat, I think you need a constant temperature. Radiant heat panels do not really accumulate heat ant therefore turning it constantly on-off (as a non proportional thermostat would do) would cause your snake to feel serious variations in temperatures... I would not recommend the boaphile thermostat...
