Tank Question

I will soon have my first GTP in a few months and i am going to use a 10 gallon tank. I can use a glass lid or a screen lid. I have both. I was just wanting to know any suggestions for setting up this tank for a 6 month old GTP. I have a misting system or can mist by hand. What is the best way to put a perch and what should i use to do it? How many should i put in? Any other suggestions on maintaining and setting up this tank would be greatly appreciated.
