:I have had my gtp for 6 months or so... are mites treated the same with these snakes as any other? please help if you have info...

I would say they are more sensitive to pesticides than most snakes. I sold a friend of mine a six month old, WELL established chondro. He set it up in a ten gal. aquarium on newspaper. It contracted mites from some boas that he had across the room, in which none of the other snakes near the chondro got. To treat, he used a Nix brand lice treatment, which is commonly used to combat mites with most colubrids and boids. The snake was dead the next day. I would research others that have had experience with mites infecting chondros before treating. I haven't had a single mite in 6 years, which was the time I quit my job at a commercial reptile breeding facility. The best defense for mites is superb cleanliness. Good luck.
