GTP's and UV light..

Up until 6 months ago I had a 2.0 bulb along with fixture inside my GTP's wooden terrarium, therefore she was getting direct exposure. However, to make it easier on myself for cleaning, I took it out and it now shines through plexiglass top of the cage. Basically it's just for photoperiod purposes now, not UV exposure. My question: Can GTP'S thrive without having direct exposure to the bulb?I know every herp vet and expert will say that snakes don't need UV. Any thoughts? Thanks for your responses..
