They don't stink if you clean them on a regular basis, they don't take up a lot of space, they don't ruin furniture, they are very low maintenance, they only need to be fed ocne a week and food costs are very cheap, they ARE harmless in this case. I must have missed a few but those are the first good points that come to mind.
