My dream snakes are snakes that can't be bought, only caught. I have recently moved from buying snakes to mostly catching what I want, and although some frown upon it, it gives me a sense of satisfaction like none other. There is something about finding a snake under a board in its natural habitat after days, weeks, or even years after looking that can not be attained from simply buying a snake. My top list right now:
1)pure red Eastern hognose
2)Mud snake
3)Large bullsnake

I have kept the assortment of exotics (bp's, different small snakes, and currently a Chondro) yet I still enjoy our native fauna the most. I am most fascinated with Heterodon and Nerodia though many shun them. Andy
