Last year, I left my male and female together all the time and they both ate fine, only got two small clutches (mostly slugs)closer to the end of the summer/early fall--I think the male wasn't ready until the end. I decided to separate them while I was brumating my corns and I cooled the male for 6 weeks. He ate three meals after coming out of cooling and when I put them back together (after female shed) he was stopped eating all together(about 1 month now). My male corns are usually stubborn eaters during breeding, but this guy ate all the time last year. Should I take him out? How long should I leave him in to make sure he got the job done? I haven't witnessed any mating but the female has felt swollen like an ovulating corn in the past week.
I'm relatively new to house snakes so any info or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
