I have read on a website that if you use repti-bark as a substrate you can clean it by:
soaking it well in boiling water for say 1/2 an hour, rinsing it through, then drying it out in an over until completely moisture free (to stop mould). This stated it also said to change the substrate completely at least once every 12 months.
I use beach wood chips and wondered if it was the same thing as repti-bark, if anyone else had heard of this and also if anyone seriously advised against it?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have also posted this on the caging forum so apologies to those that read it twice.
