Thanks for the response.......

First off, Looking at my field guide I can almost swear its a flat headed snake...(I live right near Tupelo Mississippi) I took pics (not very good through my camcorder though, I GOTTA get a digital camera) as soon as I figure out how to post pics on here I will.

More about the snake though... He (or she) has more injuries than what I first thought.... about 4 of them are now actually raising a little bump on its body... one of the bumps is near the spine about 2/3 down from his head. But the little rascal is not slowed down a bit by it!!! He is a fast little critter!!! I'm glad he isn't 10 feet long or we all would be in trouble!!!

I had him in a little critter keeper but I have set him up in one of my empty small size Precision cages... Aspen bedding, a tiny moist hide spot, and a dry hide too. He seems to like the moist one so far. Despite his injuries he seems to be doing well... But like you said, the next several days will tell. If he eats three or four times and defecates good I'll find a nice spot in my yard to put him. I'll keep y'all up to date as to his progress and post a pic as soon as I figure that out too. He really is a super nice looking little guy.. albeit very small.

Wish me luck!!!

Scott

P.S> I don't know how it will ever happen and I have my doubts about it but it sure would be nice if there was some way to get folks not to kill every freaking snake, spider, or creepy crawly they see... (I am freaked out by spiders myself, but if they leave me alone I leave them alone) I can halfway understand someone killing a known poisonous snake in there yard if there are small children present but 99.999% of the time people have no idea or dont care...
