Mites are often found hiding in the fold between the spectacle and the ocular scales. It won't make your snake blind and you really don't need to seek the advice of a vet.
What you need to do is get rid of the mites by treating this snake, all your other snakes (if you have others), all your cages, and all the cage furnishings, and the room the animals are in with an effective mite treatment.
There are only two mite treatments worth trying. The Provent-a-mite spray that is sold by some herp retailers online is supposed to work well.
I have used Black Knight Roach Spray and it works the first time, every time if you use it correctly. This is not a spray you can get locally in town at the supermarket and other roach sprays are toxic! If you want this, you can order it from some of the larger reptile supply places. Look in the caging and supplies classifieds here on KS.com. It is expensive, but one can will last you forever.
There are lots of other mite remedies on the market and frankly, those two are the best. Others simply make the problem go away for a while, but it invariably comes right back.
