Hi. Is that a local species? I'm from Ohio, and even my field guide only covers eastern species. If there is even a small patch of habitat right near the apt, that would probably be best. I have heard that released snakes do better within a very short distance of where they are found. Look around. Is there a stream or any "green space" right there? If so, I would really try to let it go where it came from. Good luck. Duffy

Hello my mom and dad found this small (about 4in.) snake in the bathroom of their apt. can you please tell me a good place in Sacramento California where I could release it,or a place I could take this little guy. I have 4 snakes already (2 boas a ball and a yellow anaconda)I think we have enought for a few yrs. Thank you for any advise
