My personal favorites in that range are the black ratsnakes and other North American ratsnakes such as yellow, grey, everglades, etc. I have a normal colored and an albino black rat and an albino greenish rat (black X yellow). They are all great animals and very easy to handle. My leucistic Texas rat, however, is a bit nippy. She is young and still learning, but Texas rats have a reputation for being feisty. If you can go to a reptile show and pick one out that already seems easy to handle, all the better. They have come out with some really good looking morphs on the black rat in addition to albino. The white-sided (licorice stick) black ratsnake is great looking. So is the brindle. If interested, check out the ratsnake forum, and Dwight's page is worth a look. Good luck whatever you choose.
