Sorry I don't have a lot of time to properly respond right now, but you again made some good points. There is one big mistake though that I saw, if the reports and phtos I have seen are to be believed, and that is about the following quote:

"The snakes that you mention (with a few exceptions) are all from different genera. It is widely accepted in the scientific community that animals of different genera cannot interbreed. Only animals belonging to the same genus can interbreed and will only provide viable offspring if they are in fact member of the same species."

Inter-genera matings resulting in live offspring are most decidedly possible if the people who have interbred different genera of snakes are to be believed. There have been successful matings between Garter Snakes & Corn Snakes, and Gopher Snakes and Corn Snakes to name two such successful inter-genera matings. I am not aware that any other type of animal other than a snake is capable of doing such, but there certainly have been reports to document such.
