We have had our snakes in our apt.(going on three years), and no body knew about it, until recently... The maintenece man came in to check the fire equipment out, and mentioned "This looks like a pet shop in here"! Turns out he really wants to get a snake, we told him about Kingsnake.com and if he had any problems... well we are here! "Wheeeeeeew!!!" That was close!
We have known someone that kept large fish tanks in his apt. (It's like a waterbed, the managers worry about water damage.) Once they found out about the 150 gallon tank, plus the plastic turtle "pond" 6 ft.long by 4 wide in the livingroom... he had to MOVE! Darn, he had a nice BASS in that tank!
We have our snakes in reptile tanks, sliding lids, with lock pins AND duct taped corners. Haven't had one escape... and don't plan on it!
All we can tell you... is don't say anything to your neighbors, move your animals in late at night, and hope for the best! So far we have been lucky, but if the worst happened, and it came down to giving up our snakes, or having to move, there is no contest, we would BE OUTTA' HERE!
