Any animal that eats vegetation can or usually carries one or several forms of salmonella. Dogs, cats, and especially birds can carry and transmit salmonella. Ecoli can be transmitted and carried by almost any pet thats exposed to it. There are others but this is an just an idea. Most bacterial infections of these types come from dogs, cats, birds, and bad food service. But reptiles get the short end of the stick on salmonella press coverage because nobody wants to blame fluffy or rover.
