feeding Phelsuma while on vacation

Has anyone found a way to time release insects for feeding while away on a week's vacation. When I used to raise Dart frogs, I would place the fruit fly bottle with a course-screen top in the tank. As the flies hatched, they would crawl out to the frogs. When I returned from a trip, the frogs were all sitting by the bottle waiting for their dinner.

Can a similar thing be done for Geckos?
