hmmm! well ive never kept a house gecko (yet!) but ive had my tokay escape a few times. as they are nocturnal, anywhere dark. my tokay prefered big, hard to move places such as my wardrobe, bookcase and behind her tank. it was suprising how low to the ground she got as well, so check everything backing against a wall.

if you can, and already haven't, seal off the room its escaped from. you can try leaving the tank open and cooling the room so the only heat source is the tank, but this didn't work one bit for my tokay. she prefered hiding behind it! the only way i could catch her was with my own hands. of course i know how quick and small house geckos are so i would suggest to get a net. a simple fish net will do, but you might want to modify it so its on a long pole.

i found the best way to 'coax' my tokay out from behind things was to nudge at her with a long, thin bamboo cane. if you can find something similar, it should help.

how come your gecko has escaped again? was it from the tank or from you opening it? if theres faults with the tank, these should be addressed quickly to prevent him escaping again.

goodluck and i hope you find it soon!

Claire
