::WKMG 6 (Orlando, Florida) April 03 Largest Crocodile In North America Dies
::Bonita Springs, Florida: Big Joe, a crocodile who lived the good life at a Bonita Springs tourist attraction, is dead.
::The 15-footer at Everglades Wonder Gardens was believed to be about 75 years old.
::Big Joe has been billed as the largest North American crocodile in the world. He came to Wonder Gardens in 1936 when he was caught in a fisherman's net in Key Largo.
::The 1,200 pound wonder ate about 30 pounds of chicken, fish and other handouts each week
::Big Joe will live on. A taxidermist is making arrangements for a permanent display.
::His living successor is Crusher, a 45-year-old croc measuring 14 feet.
::
:Crusher was indeed impressive. He was however, a distant second to UTAN "King of the Crocs" a nearly 20' monster salty/siamese hybrid weighing neaqrly 2,000 lbs currently on display at Alligator Adventure in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Pics avail by email. Crusher will be missed..........
I saw Utan the largest croc in the world last sunday at the alligator adventure. Oh boy, UTAN is a huge croc. I enjoyed seeing him. I will post pictures tomorrow.
